Why I love . . . Lemon Quartz!

Summer is just around the corner, Local Charmers! Are you as excited as I am?

There are few things in this world that conjure up summer for me more than an icy cold glass of lemonade. One taste and I am transported instantly to the season of backyard barbecues, lazy weekends on the beach, and long walks through the neighborhood at dusk (where I can’t help but buy a glass from every lemonade stand I pass). And when I need an instant pop of summer in my wardrobe, I turn to Lemon Quartz.

Lemon Quartz is a yellow variety of the mineral Quartz. It has a distinctive citrusy color that separates it from other yellow varieties of Quartz, such as Citrine. I think it looks just like a glass of lemonade!

One of the great things about Lemon Quartz is that large pieces are relatively easy to find – if you are looking for a really striking pendant or cocktail ring, Lemon Quartz is a great choice. It pops against neutrals,and will add a summery splash to a neutral sundress or blouse. However, Lemon Quartz also contrasts nicely with a variety of colors if you want to color block (one of my favorite summer looks). I think the stone looks especially dramatic when paired with a deep purple or a bright red.

In addition to looking great, Lemon Quartz is known for having a variety of healing properties. One common belief is that Lemon Quartz will help you focus on your goals. Like many yellow stones, Lemon Quartz is also said to aid in creativity, organization, and optimism. I don’t know about you, but just looking at Lemon Quartz puts me in a better mood!
